The first Oak Hairstreak that I collected 2 days ago is very near pupation. It is reddened and wrinkled and has attached itself to a leaf. I expect that it will pupate by tomorrow. This prepupa measures about 10mm. I’ve photographed it beside a dime for comparison. The prepupa I collected today followed in its predecessor’s footsteps and turned rosy pink.
